Why are Ecuadorian Roses so special?
Ecuadorian roses are considered the finest in the world because of the unique growing conditions found high in the Andes.
At elevations of 2,800 meters and above, intense equatorial sunlight and cool nights slow the growth cycle, allowing each bloom to develop larger heads, thicker stems, and more saturated color.
The near-constant year-round climate—balanced daylight hours, stable temperatures, and clean mountain air—creates extraordinary consistency in quality and availability.

Do they look different?
Ecuadorian roses are celebrated for their exceptional diversity, offering an unrivalled spectrum of colors—from deep velvety reds and rich purples to delicate pastels and rare, vibrant tones.

Are they ethically sourced? How about the carbon footprint?
Roses grown outdoors in Ecuador need almost no artificial heat or light, while roses grown in heated greenhouses in cooler climates depend heavily on gas and electricity. A Cranfield University life-cycle assessment of the UK market found that roses flown from Kenya carried roughly six times lower global warming potential than roses grown in Dutch heated greenhouses, even after accounting for air freight and its altitude effect (Williams, 2007). Air freight is still a significant part of our own footprint, and we make no claim to be carbon-neutral.
